Crested-Butte offers more double black diamond
skiing than any other resort in Colorado. Crested Butte is also
the home of the U.S. Extreme skiing and snowboarding championships,
which is held every year. Located in the heart of the rocky mountains,
Crested Butte is only 24 miles from the nearest airport which makes
it an ideal resort for those who don't like to travel long distances.
Editors Note: Crested Butte offers free
skiing at the beginning of the year (for about the first month),
excellent for those with a tight budget. Also Crested Butte has
a naked skiing day for those who like to live life on the wild side.
