With close proximity to Denver, Colorado Springs offers each of
the major pro sports within a two hours drive.
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey team and the Denver Broncos Football
team have both won their respective World Championships in the previous
5 years. Also the Colorado Rapids professional soccer team, Denver
Nuggets basketball team, and the Colorado Rockies Baseball club
have consistently finished well enough to be included in post season
play.
Professional Golf makes its way within an hours drive of Colorado
Springs annually with their stop at Castle Pines Golf Club just
north of Castle Rock. Roughly 60 minutes north up I-25 you can see
the likes of Tiger Woods, Ian Woods, and Tom Kite.
Auto racing is also well represented here in Colorado. Pikes Peak International Speedway hosts several Indy style events with its large oval, Colorado National Speedway offers one of the fastest and most difficult short tracks NASCAR faces. Finally see dragsters burn up the quarter mile at Bandimere Speedway, as it hosts the Winter Nationals.
