Manitou Cliff Dwellings Preserve and Museums located in the scenic
foothills of Pikes Peak, overlooking the historic town of Manitou
Springs, offer a unique look at Native American culture.
While wandering through the preserves you will discover the fascinating
architecture of the ancient Anasazi. Indian dancers provide traditional
programs June through August.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the dwellings, room by room on
a self-guided tour. The actual ruins date back to 1100-1300 A.D. and
are sure to delight visitors of all ages.
The dwellings are paired with 2 museums featuring cultural displays
of prehistoric Southwestern Indians. Several gift shops feature Indian-made
pottery, jewelry and crafts, as well as Colorado souvenirs and collectables.
